What is "The Lending Book Bench?"
The Lending Book Bench is a Girl Scout Gold Award Project that serves the community of Woodcliff Lake, NJ. It essentially is a bench with an expanded cabinet in the back that stores books for local readers to enjoy.

How does the project work?
The bench runs on the honor system where you have the option to either take a book, leave a book, or donate a book.

What was the inspiration behind the Lending Book Bench?
From an early age, reading has been a strong passion of mine. I was always extremely bothered by the fact that my town does not have a library. It made obtaining my favorite books a lot harder and inconvenient. I decided that my Gold Award Project would serve as the perfect way to address this issue in my local community.
